We have instituted a new rule here in the Hemming house. If the downstairs (including children's bedrooms) is not clean when we check at bedtime, then the next day the kids are grounded from screens the next day. Today the kids experienced such a grounding. There were some complaints of being bored, but mostly they did ok. They were even really good about excepting the grounding. (Except for a few times when they tried to watch with Gwendolyn who was not grounded).
Low and behold, they were forced to resort to games of imagination. And they even had to turn to their Christmas presents for entertainment.
